1. Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort
Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort is deemed one of the best golf courses in Chiang Mai. It has won several international awards, including the ‘Best New Golf Course in Asia’ title by Asian Golf Monthly in 2017.
It is situated 30 minutes from Chiang Mai and built on the hermitage of Kruba Srivichai, Doi Suthep Temple. The weather here is lovely, and there is plenty of fresh mountain air.
The course layout provides 5 different tee boxes to accommodate all levels. It also has long and wide, well-maintained fairways.
However, I must say that Chiang Mai Highlands has the most challenging courses in the area, especially Course B. So, I highly recommend this place to more experienced digital nomads.
Additionally, it has on-site cottage-style accommodation that gives guests a typical countryside experience of living like a Thai local. The facilities are clean, and the resort staff is very professional and friendly.

2. Alpine Golf Resort
Alpine Golf Resort is one of the most popular golf courses in Thailand. It was recognized internationally for its world-class layout after the Asian Tour in 2013 and 2014.
It was designed by the world-famous golf course designer Mr. Ron M. Garl. The hills and trees surrounding it, including golden teak wood, mahogany, and other species, inspired it.
The course comprises around 450 rai of land in the San Kamphaeng natural forest and offers 4-star accommodation of its own.
It also has an international restaurant and a day spa facility, which makes it a perfect weekend vacation destination. The place is family-friendly, and they serve the most refreshing coconut juice.

3. Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort
Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort is 40 minutes from Chiang Mai’s city center. It is one of the original modern golf courses, well-suited for amateur and professional players.
Wildlife, waterfalls, and streams are abundant around the golf course, which offers tranquility and a superb view. It was designed by Five-time British Open Champion Peter Thomson.
The course is quite old, but it is well-maintained. I also like that they provided a driving range, perfect for practice and warm-ups.
The food in the restaurant is delicious. But I prefer to avail of the readily available buffet rather than ordering individual dishes from the menu. It took the kitchen some time to prepare the food.
Also, ensure that you book your slot in advance. The waiting time can be long, especially during the peak season.

4. Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club
Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club is located in the lowlands 20 minutes from the city of Chiang Mai. It is the second golf course owned by the Summit Group, the first being Summit Windmill Bangkok.
The 72-par golf course is lined with palm trees, which lends a picturesque view of the surrounding mountains and native landscapes unique to Northern Thailand.
The Golf course has a wide fairway with plenty of water and well-placed sand bunkers to narrow the landing areas at every hole, raising the difficulty level a few notches.
Each hole in the golf course has its identical tee-off for amateurs, professionals, and even lady golfers.
Yes, my fellow lady golfer nomads, this golf course is perfect for you, too. It is a bit challenging, but don’t let the boys intimidate you here.
My favorite part is that the course has high-quality lighting for night golfing, something other courses don’t provide. It is perfect for players who just can’t tolerate the scorching daytime heat.
Summit Green Valley is also famous in Thailand for its beautiful Lanna Art. It also offers a clubhouse, restaurant, and spa facilities.

The Artitaya Resort also provides clean rooms and restaurant facilities to accommodate its guests. The prices are reasonable, overall giving excellent value for money.

Hariphunchai Golf Club is situated thirty minutes south of Chiang Mai. This nine-hole course is surrounded by lofty mountains, including Doi Suthep, Doi Walt, and Doi Inthanon.
The course was designed by the renowned architect Yoshikazu Kato, who also created Phuket’s famous Blue Canyon Country Club.
There are plenty of water puddles and sand traps, which added a bit more challenge to your games.
The fairways are kept smooth and well-manicured. Indeed, Hariphunchai is one of the most well-maintained courses I’ve played in Chiang Mai.
However, you should know that the golf course is quite remote from the city center, and the road is not as smooth as usual.
But the club is equipped with all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Good food, cheap eats, and friendly staff and caddies to accompany you.

The Inthanon Golf Club and Natural Resort is 40 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai and approximately an hour’s drive from the airport. The best thing is that you can arrange a pickup service if you wish to go straight to the resort after arriving in the city.
The resort is surrounded on all sides by tropical fruit orchards. From here, you can enjoy a scenic view of Doi Inthanon, the tallest mountain in Thailand.
The course features long fairways and challenging bunkers that are very appealing to professional golf players. It is expansive, so if you are a big hitter, I’m sure you will enjoy this place.
The resort has a contemporary clubhouse with a restaurant and locker room service. It is managed by a Korean, so expect to find plenty of Korean dishes on its menu—which, by the way, is absolutely delicious!

It features rolling fairways and some of the most challenging greens of the Northern Thailand region.
I also like that their driving range is on natural grass, unlike others that are laid out on artificial turf.
The accommodation is just adjacent to the golf course area. There is no lift, only stairs. So make sure to seek assistance from their staff if you bring plenty of stuff.

Surrounded by the mountains of Northern Thailand, it offers an exquisite golfing experience. The 18 holes designed around the large lake make it stand out uniquely.
